DiscountMithra Mobile App Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to the DiscountMithra mobile application ("Service" or "App") and is owned and operated by DiscountMithra (the "Company," "we," "us," or "our"). This Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and protect your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our services:
A. Personally Identifiable Information (PII):
- User Name
- Mobile Number (Required for login and communication)
- Email Address
- Residential Address (Collected only as required for specific local vendor service delivery)
B. Payment Information:
- Via Razorpay Gateway: We do not store your card details, UPI PIN, or bank credentials. All in-app payments are processed securely by Razorpay, our third-party payment gateway. We only record the transaction status (success/failure) and a Transaction ID for accounting and support purposes.
- Cash Option: For payments made via cash (for subscriptions or service charges), we only record the transaction log for accounting purposes.
C. Device Identifiers:
- We collect and transmit device identifiers, which may include the Android Advertising ID, iOS Vendor ID, or an app-generated device ID. These identifiers are used solely for login security and session management — for example, to detect suspicious sign-ins and maintain your authenticated session across app restarts. This is consistent with the "Device or other IDs" category in the Google Play Data Safety section.
D. Push Notification Tokens:
- We collect and transmit push notification tokens issued by Expo (Expo Push Notification service) and/or Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). These tokens are used exclusively to send you booking confirmations, payment status updates, and service notifications. They are not used for advertising or shared with third parties beyond the notification delivery services listed in Section 3.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following primary purposes:
- Service Delivery: To provide discounted services (negotiated with vendors) and process your transactions, including managing both paid subscriptions and free user service requests.
- Offer Communication: To send you notifications about new offers, discounts, and vendor promotions via your mobile number and email address.
- Booking and Payment Updates: To send real-time push notifications about booking confirmations and payment outcomes using your push notification token.
- Login Security and Session Management: To use your device identifier to verify your identity, prevent unauthorised access, and maintain secure sessions.
- App Improvement: To analyze usage data and performance metrics to develop new features and enhance user experience.
- Customer Support: To respond to your queries and resolve subscription or service-related issues.
3. Sharing of Your Information
We share your information only when necessary to provide the service or under legal obligation:
- With Offline Vendors (Service Fulfillment): When you wish to avail a service or discount, we share your PII (such as User Name and Mobile Number) with the relevant offline vendor to enable you to claim the in-person discount or service.
- With Razorpay (Payments): Payment transactions are processed by Razorpay. We share only the information required to complete and verify your payment. We do not share card details, UPI PINs, or bank credentials — these are never stored or transmitted through our systems.
- With Expo / Firebase (Push Notifications): Your push notification token is shared with Expo's push notification service and/or Firebase Cloud Messaging solely to deliver booking and payment notifications to your device.
- With AiSensy / WhatsApp (Transactional Messaging): We use AiSensy (a WhatsApp Business API provider) to send transactional messages such as booking confirmations and service updates to your registered mobile number via WhatsApp.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law or to respond to valid governmental requests.
4. Your Choices
- You may opt-out of receiving promotional and offer notifications by contacting us.
- You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see Section 5 below for details.
5. Account and Data Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your account and the personal data we hold about you.
How to Request Deletion:
Send a deletion request to admin@discountmithra.com from your registered email address, or contact us via the mobile number listed in Section 6. Please include your registered mobile number in the request so we can locate your account. We will process your request within 30 days and send a confirmation once completed.
What Data Will Be Deleted:
- Your account profile (name, email address, mobile number)
- Residential address, if collected
- Device identifiers and push notification tokens associated with your account
- Any saved preferences or app settings linked to your account
What Data May Be Retained:
Certain data may be retained even after account deletion where required by law or legitimate business need:
- Transaction records (Transaction IDs, payment status, and amounts) — retained for up to 7 years for accounting, tax compliance, and financial audit purposes.
- Records necessary for fraud prevention or to defend against legal claims — retained for the period required by applicable law.
- Anonymised or aggregated data that cannot identify you individually — this may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
Once the applicable retention period expires, retained data will be securely deleted or anonymised.
